8. Here are some collections, environments and areas of interest that we recommend you visit: Cryptogamic System is one of the three gardens that illustrate the classification systematic and evolutionary processes in plants. The Garden is the oldest plants on earth. No seeds, they reproduce by spores and are known as cryptogams.

9. In this group are called ferns and horsetails. Located in a lush rendering of high Andean forest, has a beautiful waterfall where you can relax with the music of water. Collection or Palmetum Palmas is very appealing to visitors, with 588 individuals of palms belonging to 50 species, among which stands the Quindío wax palm, which was declared National Tree of Colombia (Law 61 of September 16 1985), which is the tallest palm in the world, measuring up to 60 meters. Its leaves are a symbol of freedom, and live more than 2600 meters above sea level.

10. The Maloca is a typical ancestral community used by Amazon Indians. Sacred place that represents the center of knowledge and the universe in its entirety. It was built by Indians in 1997 Uitotos intercultural educational purposes, research, and ethnobotany. The Maloca allows the recovery of traditions and knowledge of our ancestors and enriches the efforts made every day around the Garden in environmental protection.
11. Circuit Tropicarium Greenhouse or construction began after 1968, following a special construction standards that simulate natural environments that represent the Colombian flora warm and mild climate. Consists of 6 rooms connected by corridors of transition, including: collection of orchids and bromeliads, ornamental plants, economic botany, tropical humid, rain forest and xerophytic environment. Covers the most important ecosystems in Colombia and knows our National Flower trianae Cattleya Orchid, and Orchid Flower Bogota Odontoglossum luteopurpureum Lindl.
12. The Cloud Forest recreates an Andean forest in an area of 3,127 m2, with small slopes. The diversity represented here is widely distributed among different types of trees, shrubs and vines, creating a semi-closed environment that facilitates the adaptation of plants according to their requirements. It is considered one of the most mysterious and magical areas of the garden and is ideal for birdwatching in the morning and late afternoon.
13. Herbal displays about 100 species of plants, including medicinal, aromatic and condiment. Delight in the aromas and know the plants that are used by natural medicine to relieve fever, such as laxatives, diuretics, laxatives, cold remedies, analgesics, refreshing, tonic, stimulating blood circulation, abortifacients, antibiotics, deworming, hallucinogens, antiparasitic, among other uses. The knowledge and use of medicinal and aromatic plants is part of the cultural heritage of the peoples represented in the customs and practices of farmers, indigenous doctors, shamans and curacas. We recommend not to use them without the accompaniment of an expert in the field, which has the training and knowledge to prepare them in cooking, tea, poultice, tincture, syrup or poultice. Remember that some plants can be very toxic and highly dangerous.
14. The Collection of Roses or Rose has 73 varieties of hybrid roses and ornamentals. Roses abound herbaceous and shrub size but there are also some varieties of climbing roses or vines. Due to its wide variety of colors and shapes, ornamental roses are considered par excellence.
15. And if you want to feel natural in an Andean forest, you have to visit and have fun in a wonderful oak forest with abundant oak replica of litter on the ground. Finally, discover the Gymnosperms Systematic where you can find the Ginkgo Biloba is considered a living fossil to retain archaic character of the remote times when forests were abundant in the Carboniferous. Recognize its medicinal properties as a vasodilator and its effects on the circulatory system. Originates in the Far East (China, Japan). If you want to book a visit without the accompaniment of a guide-interpreter environment you can buy, at the box office, a Garden Guide Map. We also have information panels in the main collections, which you will find important information about the Garden and its collections.
